If readers value the publication enough and have opted in to participate in this business model, it will probably work great. If they have been excluded from the conversation and were forced into a paid subscription, they might find a way around paying. You can always copy and paste on Word or maybe use the same username to access information.

Interesting to note that there are limits—for instance, someone with a subscription can still e-mail articles.
